150 athletes to compete in Sailung Ultramarathon

Kathmandu, 9 June 2025: The third edition of the Sailung Ultramarathon is being held in Ramechap district on coming June 14.

The event features an open 55-kilometer Ultramarathon and a five-kilometer race for both men and women said, Lal Bahadur Magar, chair of the Sunapati Sailung Ultramarathon Committee, at a press conference held here today.

The Ultramarathon will start from Sandi Danda in Sunapati municipality-3 and will pass through Sunapati Danda, Lahere Mane, Bhage Danda, Khanda Devi Temple, Galpa Bhanjyang, Agleshwor Danda, Doramba Bazaar, Sahid Park, Danda Kateri, Ghale Danda, Doramba Sailung and conclude in Sailung of Ward No. 1.

The winner in the 55-kilometer race for both men and women will receive Rs 100,000 reach while the runner-up will receive Rs 50,000. Similarly, the athlete coming in third place will receive Rs 25,000, the fourth Rs 10,000 and the fifth place winner will receive Rs 5,000.

The organizers have stated that around 150 athletes are likely to take part in the competition.
