NC takes initial lead in Darchula vote count

Khalanga (Darchula), 6 March 2026: Nepali Congress candidate in the district, Dharma Nand Joshi, is taking initial lead in vote count.

He has so far secured 392 votes, while CPN UML's Ganesh Singh Thagunna collected 339 votes. The vote count is over for ward no 1 and 2 of Byas rural municipality in the district having a single constituency.

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Rajesh Samant has garnered 66 votes and Laxman Datt Joshi of the Nepali Communist Party collected 9 votes, according to election officer Bhuwan Giri.
